The Deputy Director will help expand the organization’s capacity to build the resilience and skills of transgender women of color in the U.S. South to organize and fight back against the violence, discrimination, and poverty that mark our lives. The role offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate to work directly with Miss Major to further develop the organization’s administrative and financial systems, as well as helping Miss Major to design and coordinate the House of GG’s signature healing retreats for Southern trans women of color.
In the coming year, this position will focus on continuing to build-out the organization, working closely with its board of directors and Miss Major on fundraising, organizational administration, managing contractors, and completing the establishment of the organization’s newly-acquired retreat center, “The Oasis.” We are particularly looking for candidates who are self-directed problem-solvers, who can take the lead on projects while also working with diverse stakeholders as family to build buy-in. And most importantly, we are looking for someone who is invested in the well-being and empowerment of trans women of color, and who can be a true thought-partner for Miss Major as she continues to build her legacy for everyone who believes in justice.
